As of January 24, 2006, a website blocking/filtering software was installed
to block access of inappropriate websites.
Internet usage at EHS is monitored using two different processes in order to provide a degree of redundancy:
1) A firewall filter list is maintained which alerts an administrator in the event that anyone within the system accesses a site classed, by the firewall software, to be inappropriate. These alerts are reviewed by the administrator and, when required, the responsible individual is interviewed in order to ascertain the circumstances involved in the incident. When necessary, appropriate discipline is applied.
2) A separate software application is used on a regular basis to analyze the Internet log files for up to the most recent 28 day period. This software produces the Internet Use analysis graphic which is normally posted on this site.

Note - Investigation into pornography category shows that the
actual hits are overstated.
The majority of sites so classified were tatoo sites.
3) In the time period from April, 2003 until the end of September, 2003 a series of hardware and software problems precluded production of these monthly reports. In their stead, the graphic below provides data on the number of administrative investigations carried out for this time frame. October data is included for comparison purposes with the Internet Use graphic for that month.
