SCIENCE @ EHS
An essential part of your education and the academic mission of Exeter High School, the study of science will provide you with opportunities to learn about the physical and biological world. Throughout your coursework, you will learn that science is a process which relies on observational skills, data collection methods, and the ability to draw conclusions from that data. Furthermore, you will gain insights into the relationship of humans with our environment and how we can alter this relationship both positively and negatively.
The Science Curriculum at Exeter High School is fully aligned to the NH State Science Curriculum Frameworks meaning that instructors will incorporate strands of Science Process Skill, Technology, Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Space Science into each course that is taught. To graduate from high school students must pass one year of physical science and one year of a biological science. Students planning to continue their education beyond high school should take at least three years of science at the 300 level of difficulty or higher, who are considering science related careers should take at least four years of science at the 200 or 100 level of difficulty. If you will be a junior during the 2007-2008 school year who is not taking chemistry, it is important that you consider enrolling in a semester of geology so that you will cover the new State of New Hampshire Frameworks for the
NECAP test in the spring of 2008.
